Overview: We are looking to add a raw material handler to our team on 1st shift. Forklift Operator - Material Rotation supports the warehouse and production operations including assistance with receiving raw ingredients and packaging materials and ensuring proper staging, storing, and inventory rotation are maintained for raw ingredients and packaging materials using First In First Out (FIFO) and First Expired First Out (FEFO) methods.
Responsibilities:
Assist with unloading other inbound packaging materials (trays, ends, shrink film, etc.) and rotate all materials utilizing FIFO method.
Assist with unloading and checking in incoming ingredients. Using the ingredient inventory database, ensure that all materials are rotated per FIFO or FEFO.
Verify all incoming materials match Bill of Lading (BOL) and coordinate with inventory clerk to ensure that all required documents are received with each delivery including but not limited to: Certificate of Analysis (COAs), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Packing Slip, etc.
Stage all packaging materials needed for next day production using FIFO.
Using the ingredient inventory database, to stage ingredients needed for upcoming production schedule(s) using FIFO and FEFO.
Return materials to dedicated location after production run, with inspection of correct quantities and labeling.
Labeling all inbound materials with customers' information as needed.
Move packaging materials between offsite warehouse and main warehouse depending on production needs.
Cycle counting materials as needed.
Verifying materials for production run daily to ensure all materials are available for the day.
Ensure all material storing locations are kept clean and tightened up.
Assists in loading trucks and fills in on projects, as needed.
Assist in the disposition and documentation of Hold materials.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- • High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience driving a box truck preferred
- • 1-2 years' previous warehouse experience required; with experience in Food and Beverage industry preferred.
- • Experience working with FIFO and FEFO inventory control methods.
- • Required to fully comply with Quality Management System Policies and Procedures and Food Safety Management requirements.
- • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- • Required to be forklift certified by Krier Foods, Inc. before operating any company owned forklift.
- • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail.
- • Ability to demonstrate a high sense of urgency and be proactive in addressing problems as they arise.
- • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, cultivating a culture of trust, accountability, collaboration and teamwork.
- • Must attain Food Safety Training (Qualified Individual)
- • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, sitting, twisting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing), perform repetitive motions for extended period of time (up to 2-3 hours) and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects or small parts.
- • Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and fumes.
